Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our heirloom beans and pantry staples.

How should I store my dried beans?

Keep your beans in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. While they technically last indefinitely, they are best enjoyed within two years of the harvest date for optimal texture and flavor.

Do I really need to soak heirloom beans before cooking?

While soaking can reduce cooking time and ensure even hydration, many of our fresh-crop heirloom varieties can be cooked directly from dry. We recommend the 'quick soak' method if you are short on time.

What is your shipping policy for heavy orders?

We offer flat-rate shipping on most orders within the contiguous United States. Because beans are heavy, we work hard to negotiate the best possible rates with our carriers to keep your costs low.

Can I return food items if I change my mind?

To ensure food safety and quality control, we cannot accept returns on food products. However, if your order arrived damaged or if there was an error, please contact our customer service team immediately for a replacement or refund.

Are your products non-GMO and organic?

All Rancho Gordo beans are non-GMO. While not all of our small-batch growers are certified organic, we prioritize sustainable farming practices and traditional cultivation methods that respect the land.

How do I join the Rancho Gordo Bean Club?

The Bean Club currently has a waiting list due to high demand. You can sign up for the waitlist on our website, and we will notify you via email as soon as a spot becomes available for new members.
